Don’t Fall Off…..

This is for all you people out there that have started meal plans, diets, healthier eating, whatever you’d like to call it and are starting to fall off the wagon.

Now, I really want you to take a look in the mirror and ask yourself

Why are you allowing this to happen?

What is it that’s more important to you then your health?

Is it the taste of the food?

Is it that 10 minutes of pleasure that you get from eating something that tastes good but is going to hurt your body?

REALLY think about that.

Also I REALLY want you to think about what would happen if you ate something a little healthier.

If you dropped a little more weight.

Imagine adding a year onto your life, because of your healthy eating choices.

And imagine in that one extra year, how many more pleasurable moments you will get to experience.

Spending more time with your children

Your grandchildren

Your other half

Imagine today was your last day on earth.

And if you ate healthy today, you would get to live just one more day.

Now, we are all going to stumble.

You are most likely not going to be successful at your first try at eating healthy and dropping weight.

Probably not the second time or the third time either.

So for all of you that have failed and are still sitting on the sidelines…….

Yes, I just slapped you in the face and said, “ Get on your feet!”

Get back up, keep going, and try again!

Every time you are about to put something bad in your face.

Think about what I just said.

Think about those moments in your life that you were the happiest.

And think how many more of those moments you can have just by eating a little healthier.

So, get your ass off the sidelines and start doing something to better yourself.

What’s Holding You Back?

6a00d83455f11369e20177432f5723970d-320wiYesterday, one of my clients, lets call her Mrs Smith.

Shared with me some of her most deepest darkest secrets.

Of course, I am not going to talk about what she told me, but I wanted to address how brave it was for Mrs Smith to do this.

A lot of times the past is the reason why we are doing things in the present.

If what you are doing in the present is not making you happy, then you may have to face those demons from your past.

For Mrs Smith to actually confront her demons and talk about what had happened to her is a huge step in the healing process.

Her realizing that those things are what is holding her back from eating the way she wants to and getting the results she wants is the first hurdle to becoming who she wants to be.

Morning JourneyThis journey is not going to be easy.

This journey is not going to be short.

But we can make this journey together.

“Change your attitude, Change your life”

I woke up at 4:30am this morning.

Do you know why?

Because I was excited about life:-)

There are too many of us out there that don’t wake up this way. Now it hasn’t always been this way. I have had my ups and downs, my trials and tribulations. But I’ve always kept a good attitude through all of it. That I believe is the true key to most things in life. Keeping a good attitude.

It’s real easy to fall into the blame game. Where you are blaming everyone else and everything for what’s not going well in life.

My boss hates me.

My girlfriend is bi-polar.
(I dated a few of these 🙂

You get what I mean right?

Instead, keep a good attitude about it and those situations are going to look a lot different.

“Change your attitude, Change your life”

I know weight loss is a big one for most people out there. You think to yourself, how much happier you will be with the weight off. How much easier life would be if you were a few inches smaller.

“When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.”

Henry Ford

So I challenge you today to write down two things that you are grateful for.

It has been proven that people who write down the things they are grateful for every day have stronger immune systems, more happiness, and less reaction to negative events.

So there’s the challenge, what are you going to do with it?

Have you ever…..?

Have you ever failed at something?

Have you ever been afraid to do something?

Have you ever done something stupid?

I myself have failed at a lot of things. To face this fact is a hard thing to do. Most of us would like to not think about these things and pretend that they never happened. But we forget that our failures are what make us strong. You learn from your mistakes and you get back up and keep pushing forward.

I hate being afraid of things. I have always acknowledged my fears and tried to face them head on. That is if you know what your fears are. A lot of us never look deep enough inside ourselves to recognize our fears. You will never break free of them unless you know whats lurching inside. Those of you that know me, probably did not know that I was afraid to talk to people when I first got out of the Marine Corps and was starting my personal training career. Communicating with Marines is a lot different then regular people. Fuck is not used after every other word in the civilian world. (you military guys know what I’m talking about) I thought to myself, “are you sure you want to do this.” But I looked at myself in the mirror and told myself I needed to face this fear. I am proud to say that that fear no longer exists.

Stupid mistakes. I’m sure most of us have made our fair share of those. I have made a ton!! One of these mistakes that stands out for me, is the Brig time I served while in the Marines. Yes, I was a bad boy. I made a stupid mistake of being a follower and got busted for it. Always cut your own path people. But after I served my time in the Brig, people would always ask me if I regret doing what I did. I always thought it was a funny question. No, I do not regret my actions because I wouldn’t be the man I am today without making those stupid mistakes. I wouldn’t have been able to prove to people that you can recover from a situation like that and get out of the Marines a higher rank then some of your friends that didn’t get in trouble.

So whatever obstacles you may be facing, whatever tasks you are trying to accomplish. Remember why you are STRONG, remember why you are FEARLESS, and remember why you are WISE. It is because of all those failures, fears, and mistakes from our past.
