Don’t Get Punched In The Mouth

This life lesson was ingrained into my head when I was in the Marines.

It would take us weeks to perfectly plan out attacks.

We had details down to what each individual person would be doing during the operation.

We had 3-D layouts of all the buildings and land features.

We would have meetings from the highest-level Troops to the lowest.

fitness planningIt was perfect!

And do you know what would happen as soon as boots hit the ground?

Something we didn’t plan for would happen!

Do you know what we did when this happened?

We didn’t STOP.

We didn’t GIVE UP.

We didn’t even HESITATE.

We immediately adapted to the situation and over came the obstacle.

We all have a life plan (or you should)

And quite often, you might feel like life punched you in the mouth.

It could be work issues.

It could be problems at home.

It could be you falling off your meal plan.

It could be financial issues.

No matter what that punch might be, it’s going to feel like it through your whole plan off track.boxing_punch

Like boxers say, “You have to roll with the punches.”

Don’t let one of these punches completely knock you out.

Roll with the punch and keep moving forward.

Too many of us let these punches knock us down and we decide not to get back up.

We just lie there and wonder, “Why did this happen to me?”

It doesn’t matter why it happened to you, it happened.

Now GET BACK UP and figure out how to conquer the problem.

Most of the people that I’ve helped were at the point where they felt like there was no HOPE left.

But right at that point all it usually takes is a small nudge forward and the sky opens up and all their hard work takes effect.

So remember this the next time you feel like life punched you in the mouth.

Be A Warrior, Not A Worrier

Are you the type of person that worries about everything?

If you are, you’re not alone.

There are a lot of people out there that worry about everything.

I’ve always said “Worrying is a useless emotion.”

My wife hates that saying:-)

But I do have to say that the statement is only partially true.

You can worry (a little bit) about the things you can change, but it’s absolutely pointless to worry about the things you can’t change.

I’ve always been good about being able to visualize what I want and then make it happen.

I thought I was just gifted, but it’s not about that.

It’s about your thought process.

It’s about how you take on challenges.

When your challenged by something, do you wonder if you will be able to overcome it?

Or is the only thought in your head how you are going to overcome the challenge and not if.

I know this may sound trivial.

Some of you may be sitting there right now going “yeah yeah” I’ve heard this before.

I challenge you to give this a shot. Every time you catch yourself worrying about something, first figure out if it is something you can change.

If it is something you can change, decide your course of action to change it.

And then DO IT!

No second guesses, do not doubt yourself, focus on the end result and visualize it in your head everyday.

Be aware of every time self doubt creeps into your brain and stomp on it with “I will accomplish my goal”

If you do this, I guarantee you can accomplish anything.

There will be haters that try to drag you down and tell you to just give up. images

But you may want to take a look at that person and see where they are at in life. What have they accomplished?

Do not let anyone tell you it can’t be done.

If everyone listened to people like that, we would still be cooking over fires and I would not be sharing this with 1000’s of people:-)

“Genius” sometimes means just not realizing that something is impossible”
